ABUJA – The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, on Wednesday, declared that any coalition aimed at removing President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general elections is “bound to fail.”

Wike made the statement during the official commissioning of the Arterial Road N16 linking Shehu Shagari Way (Ring Road 1) to Arterial Road N20 (Wole Soyinka Way), including an interchange and adjoining roads in the Katampe District of Abuja.
“Your good work has killed the coalition,” Wike told President Tinubu during the event. “I was thinking that truly, there would be a coalition. The coalition is bound to fail, and it has failed.”
The FCT minister praised President Tinubu for granting 10 consecutive days for project commissioning across the capital, stating that it was a testament to the administration’s commitment to infrastructure development under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
He described the newly completed road project as a major infrastructural breakthrough that will reduce traffic congestion in central Abuja and boost access to developing districts like Katampe, Jahi, and Mabushi.
“This road is not just asphalt; it is a symbol of modern governance. It reconnects Abuja to its masterplan and opens up new corridors for housing, commerce, and city integration,” Wike said.
He commended President Tinubu’s leadership style, saying it promotes results over rhetoric.
“The president’s support and funding made this possible. We are witnessing a clear departure from abandoned projects. This administration delivers,” he added.
President Tinubu, in his remarks, lauded Wike’s commitment to transforming the capital city, noting that the infrastructure drive remains central to Nigeria’s long-term development.
“We will continue to build and serve the people, regardless of political distractions,” Tinubu said. “This is how to renew hope.”
The Arterial Road N16 project is one of several completed by the FCT Administration in recent months, with more scheduled for commissioning in the coming days.
