Renowned cleric and convener of the Initiative for a Better and Brighter Nigeria (IBBN), Prophet Isa El-Buba, has dumped the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi.

He declared his full support for the presidential ambition of Social Democratic Party (SDP) standard bearer in 2027 general election, Prince Adewole Adebayo.
El-Buba, who previously wielded significant influence in mobilizing support for Obi, revealed that his decision to shift allegiance stems from a critical need to preserve Nigeria’s democratic plurality and halt the country’s dangerous slide into a totalitarian political landscape.
Addressing a massive crowd of party faithful, youth leaders, and delegates in Bauchi, Bauchi State, the cleric described the gathering as a definitive turning point in Nigeria’s political trajectory.
Explaining his new choice, El-Buba asserted that the SDP presidential flag bearer possesses the vision required to restore the country’s lost values and rebuild broken public trust.
He expressed fierce optimism that this new alignment marks the true beginning of a “national rebirth” and the ultimate emergence of a prosperous, equitable “New Nigeria.”
