Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Communication, has declared the current opposition to the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the weakest in Nigeria’s political history.

Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Bwala dismissed recent discussions among opposition figures about forming a coalition to challenge Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.
“Even if they bring penicillin or ampicillin, this opposition is, very sadly, the worst that has ever happened to Nigeria,” Bwala said.
He claimed that his defection to support President Tinubu had sparked a wave of defections from other opposition members.
“When I made the decision to come over to President Bola Tinubu, the floodgates opened. I was like Moses in this journey,” he said.
Bwala also weighed in on the economy, saying the Tinubu administration has moved Nigeria’s economy from critical condition to recovery.
“The economy is out of the intensive care unit and now in the recovery room. That’s a huge milestone,” he said.
He admitted that while the economy is still facing challenges, the administration has stabilized key fundamentals like debt management and foreign reserves.
“We are entering a stage where Nigerians will begin to feel the real impact of these economic reforms,” Bwala added
Bwala listed a series of what he described as major achievements by the Tinubu administration including meeting the demands of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) and increasing the minimum wage.
Others are raising the monthly stipend for National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members to N77,000 and supporting private sector growth and providing social interventions for vulnerable Nigerians.
“This President is committed to ensuring equity, growth, and opportunity even as we carry out necessary reforms,” he said.
