Kenneth Okonkwo Says ADC Will Win 2027 Election Without Peter Obi

A member of the African Democratic Congress, Kenneth Okonkwo, has stated that the party remains confident of winning the 2027 presidential election in Nigeria even without Peter Obi in its fold.

Kenneth Okonkwo, a member of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), stated on Wednesday that the party will not be impacted by former presidential candidate Peter Obi’s move to the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).

According to Okonkwo, ADC will run the next administration without Obi if they won the 2027 presidential election.

“We are alive, kicking and we are going to form the next government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria because we will win the 2027 election,” Okonkwo stated in an interview with Arise Television. We will prevail because the coalition is functioning nicely.

“You’ll remember that I once stated that I won’t speak for a man whose stance on significant national issues I don’t know. I also stated that I won’t speak for a man who, even if he wins and you give him your votes, lacks the ability to secure his own victory, so the question of whether the coalition will be affected will not be affected in any way.”

Okonkwo claimed that in the previous six months, Obi had switched political parties three times.

He went on, “Peter Obi switched parties three times in just six months.” He was a member of the Labour Party by December 30th, thus I have not taken his defection to the NDC seriously or as relevant, December 1st he was a member of ADC; and by May 3rd he is a member of NDC.

“I’m sure that if not for the restriction in the Electoral Act, before the close of registration or membership time, he would be a member of another party.

Changing parties does not call into doubt your ability, competency, or character, but that is his nature. It’s the justification you provide for switching parties. Peter Obi stated that he had no issues with David Mark, indicating that he had no issues with ADC; similarly, he stated that he had no issues with Atiku, indicating that he had no issues with the candidates.

He said, “I prefer to flee to a place of tranquility because I dislike problems. ADC is facing both legal and non-legal challenges. And given that Nigeria is currently the most challenged nation in the world, I now wonder how this same man can ask Nigerians to entrust their country to him.
