THE NEGATIVE ANECDOTAL ARTICLE ABOUT WOMEN THAT WAS PURPORTEDLY WRITTEN BY PROF. WOLE SOYINKA: A SINISTER MOTIVE AND THE RESPONSE OF IGNORAMUSES ON SOCIAL MEDIA!
An anecdotal article that is purportedly written by Prof. Wole Soyinka has been trending on social media for about a week now.
The article is a scathing criticism of women which the author presented in the form of an anecdote (narration of a personal experience), and it begins with a statement that he (the author) once dated a 45-year-old woman when he was 35 years old.
It is however curious that the author used the photos of a younger Prof. Wole Soyinka with his wife and a couple of his children (as shown here) in the article and presented it as if Prof. Wole Soyinka is the author of the article!
The author’s motive is obviously a sinister one!
One possibility is that he is trying to use the deceit that Prof. Soyinka is the author to get people to buy his book which he mentioned and which he claimed contains the narrative he posted on social media about women.
The other possibility is that he deliberately decided to deceive people to believe that Prof. Soyinka is the author of such a damning and caustic article about women.
I strongly suspect that the second possibility is his motive.
He is simply out to tarnish the image of Prof. Soyinka and whip up negative sentiments against him as a sexist and woman-hater.
A private research I embarked on has revealed the name of the author and the tribe he belongs to, and the outcome of the research has buttressed my belief that the post was put up to deliberately incite people against Prof. Soyinka.
Unfortunately, some ignorant and unintelligent Nigerians have actually started to help the author to achieve his sinister aim by believing that Prof. Soyinka actually wrote the article!
I have read the comments of many people on the thread of the post and it is obvious that they believe that Prof. Soyinka wrote it.
What a bunch of ignoramuses!
The moment I read the first two sentences of the article, I knew that Prof. Soyinka is not the author!
Prof. Soyinka would not write such atrocious grammar and he would not write such a petty and absolutely pedestrian piece about women!
So, those who believe that Prof. Soyinka could have written such bunkum definitely don’t know anything about the Nobel Laureate and they are also unintelligent!
You may fact-check all I wrote above by googling the post in question, and you will find out that there is no single reliable autobiographical or biographical account that associates Prof. Wole Soyinka with the authorship of the article in question!
Thank you.
