Tinubu will win come 2027

A consensus is gradually building that Tinubu despite the biting economic problems of Nigeria, has performed fairly well by confronting all of the problems of the country and by the quality and the caliber of the people he has appointed to carry out the task.

Yes, I would be the first to agree that Tinubu is not an orator like Tafawa Balewa. Not even close.

Simply put, Tinubu is not a good communicator.

That accolade belongs to his First Lady and to some of his top aides like Daniel Bwala, and Party men like Shehu Sani, Dave Umahi. Festus Keyamo and Dele Alake to mention a few.

Left to me alone Tinubu is no longer the fire brand he used to be as a two term Governor of Lagos State.

He does not even have the vocabulary or the eloquence to articulate and to describe what he has done in a language that every Dick and Harry can understand.

I don’t know if it is age or poor health that has taken a toll on him, he is just not the same Tinubu I used to know when he was the auditor of Mobil Nigeria PLC serving his pupillage under Pius Akinyelure from Idanre.

I knew Tinubu well when he was the colleagues to few of my good friends at Mobil like Bode Fadase from Ondo town. Solomon Oladunni from Oke Agbe in Akoko, Oldwumi Omotosho and Toyin Obe from Akure and Mr. Sawyer from Abeokuta.

But the question I now ask myself is whether or not that shortcoming or deficit have all added up to make Tinubu a non- performing President compared to all of his predecessors in that office?

Hell No is my answer to that question.

The guy has performed. If you don’t believe me just go and listen more attentively to Mr. Daniel Bwalla from Bornu, Senator Shehu Sani and Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna, State, or Emir Lamido Sanusi of Kano who is not a card- carrying member of the APC and Reno Omokri’s analysis and the analysis of one Olayiwola Alaga of the Yoruba World Center of the premier University of Ibadan who calls it like he sees it without fear or favor.

I have fallen in love with Olayiwola Alaga so much so that I am now a frequent visitor to his very educative platform on YouTube affiliated with the great University of Ibadan as the premier citadel of Learning in Nigeria till tomorrow.

Many of those commentators on Tinubu are less politically biased and they are far more credible than many of Tinubu’s critics in the Opposition Gang-up who are so hungry to return to power not because they love Nigeria, but because they just want to return Nigeria back to the “status quo ante Bellum” where true Federalism would never be allowed to take hold and where each of the federating units would never ever be allowed to develop and to progress at their own pace and not be held to ransom by one predominant ethnic group in the country.

Nigeria as one united country will not survive, if a true Federalism is not allowed to thrive in the country .

That is just the blunt truth that many of our fellow compatriots don’t want to hear.

Some of Tinubu’s Ministers have performed creditably and the President has to be given his full credit for that just like Pa Obafemi Awolowo was given credit for the 10 good years he was the leader of Government in the old Western Region.

Among few of those ministers that readily come to mind are Dave Umahi, Keyamo , Wike, the current Chairman of EFCC to mention a few and Professor Yakubu he has so far retained as the Chairman of INEC.

It is true that there is still a lot of room for improvement in the performance of Tinubu but the guy has done something remarkable and positive that must not be swept under the carpet.

That is the point I am making. As some aspects of his performance become noticeable, public opinion and perception of his overall performance are most likely to drastically change for the better.

That is a prediction I am able to make as individual who has served under Pa Obafemi Awolowo and I have clearly seen some of the fine attributes of Awo in Tinubu who has proved himself to be more strategic and even more tactful and more diplomatic than Awo even though he comes a distant second to Awo in intellect and academic excellence.

Tinubu is not as bad as his political detractors want us to make him.

They all underestimate him much to their own peril, and he would beat them again like a drum, like he had done before in 2023.

You all can write it down. I am neither a T. B. Joshua nor a Nostradamus.

Nigerian voters in their millions are going to rediscover Tinubu and rally round him when it matters the most when all of the good things he has done suddenly begin to manifest themselves in a way that the people cannot ignore or simply dismiss with the wave of the hand.

That is the blunt truth. I will criticize Tinubu when I need to and I would praise him if I need to, as an independent- leaning democrat and a technocrat who just wants Nigeria to live up to her reputation as the proverbial Giant of Africa with a great potential to be a leader in the African Continent if the country does not implode and crash under its own weight, I dare predict.

I am a technocrat and not a dye-in-the-wool political operative who just wants to paint Tinubu black for my own self aggrandizement like Atiku and Nasir El Rufai want to do.

We all must reject their “Seevice above Self pretensions and claims because they are all a bunch of self- serving maggots, if you see what I see.

I rest my case.
