The Metropolitan Police say they have arrested a man after a 46-year-old Nigerian, Okechukwu Iweha was stabbed to death in Haringey, London.
Detectives investigating the murder said a 28-year-old man was arrested in Croydon on Monday, 22 April on suspicion of murder and was taken to a north London police station where he remains at this time.
Detective Chief Inspector Neil John, from the Specialist Crime Command, is leading the investigation.
He said while the police had made an arrest and investigation is making good progress, they are still keen to hear from anyone who has information – no matter how small a detail it might seem.
Report said the police were called at 05:51hrs on Sunday, 7 April to Worcester Avenue, junction with Northumberland Park N17, after a man was found unresponsive.
The police said officers attended with London Ambulance Service paramedics and that on arrival, they found Okechukwu suffering stab injuries.
According to the police, CPR was administered but despite the best efforts of emergency services, he was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
The police added that the Okechukwu’s family continued to be supported by specialist officers, saying that a post-mortem held on 10 April at Haringey Mortuary gave cause of death as a stab wound to chest.
They said on Wednesday, 10 April, a 33-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder but had since been released with no further action.
