
President Tinubu Urges Security Agencies To Fish Out Those Behind Plateau, Benue Killings
President Tinubu strongly denounced the recent spate of deadly clashes in the Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau and parts of Benue State. He emphasized the urgent need to break the cycle of violence that has plagued these regions.
Expressing his deep concern, President Tinubu lamented the tragic loss of innocent lives, including that of an eight-month-old baby in the Farin Lamba community of Vwang District, Jos South Local Government. The President stressed that conflicts of this nature bring immense sorrow and underscore the necessity for tolerance and forgiveness to foster vibrant, peaceful, and prosperous communities.
The President called upon socio-religious leaders in the affected areas, as well as the Arewa Consultative Forum, Jama’atu Nasril Islam, and the Christian Association of Nigeria, to collaborate in promoting genuine and lasting peace. He reaffirmed his government’s unwavering determination to eradicate violent crimes and all forms of criminality throughout Nigeria. The President has directed security agencies to identify and apprehend the masterminds behind these despicable acts, ensuring they face the full force of the law.
In addition, President Tinubu urged the governments of Plateau and Benue states, along with emergency response agencies, to extend their support and provide immediate relief to the displaced victims affected by these conflicts.
