Singer Paul Okoye aka Rudeboy has joined his twin brother Peter Okoye aka Mr P to troll Seun Kuti following the Afrobeats singer’s outburst directed at them on social media.
The barrage of words between Kuti and Mr P started after the former hit the latter and his twin over their ‘sudden love’ for the ‘suffering masses and desire for a working system’ in the country.
He also argued the PSquare brothers, while emphasising Mr P had no right to tell the people who to vote for claiming they had wined and dined with the ‘rich men and politicians that have continued to create hardship for the common man.
Reacting in a series of Twitter posts, which has eight parts, Mr P tagged Seun Kuti as ‘frustrated’ urging him to pray to his deity to take away the bitterness from his heart and change his life situation.
He said the Big Bird would be an unknown entity if it were not for his iconic dad, noting he and his brother have worked hard to imprint their names in the sands of time.
Mr P advised Kuti to learn decorum from his nephew Made Kuti and leave other people ready to campaign for their preferred presidential candidate alone.
The youngest son of Femi Anikulapo Kuti took a swipe at Mr P for throwing shades at him online instead of engaging him in a political debate that would elevate their followers’ consciousness about politics.
He bemoaned the pop singer for deriding him using his late father and nephew.
The Egypt 80 band leader blasted the entire Okoye family for fighting and ridiculing themselves online.
He said: “Why not call me out for political debate? Let’s discuss political debate and elevate the consciousness of our followers. Instead you begin throw shades online. Your family be like him family wey dem disgrace themselves online?
“Dey fight, dey throw….dey use my own father and my nephew. Why you no use your own nephew talk to me, abi your own brother.
”Are you not proud of yourselves? After una don disgrace una whole family online finish. Yab yab unaselves. Throw una selves anyhow because of money. Senior brother, twin brother, everybody insult una lives, throw everything. You’re now using my own family to talk to me. That Made is well-behaved. Why didn’t you too copy Made when you were disgracing yourselves, Mugu!
“After you have played for Buhari in 2015. You think they didn’t reach out to us too during that time? But we know how to say, ‘No’. Because no be everything we dey chop.
“And let me tell you people something. In this country, until we as a people learn how to sacrifice the things wey we dey ‘chop’. Na that thing wey we dey chop naim dey f*ck us up. Naim dey diminish us.”
Rudeboy responded: “E be like I go start to dey smoke dis Igbo ohh” and accompanied the post with laughing emojis.
P-Squre should apologize to Seun, and Seun should forgive them
Self acclaimed investigative journalist, Kemi Olunloyo has waded into the war of words between Peter Okoye of Psquare and Seun Kuti, son of afrobeat legend, Fela Kuti.
In the words of Kemi Olunloyo:
“I hope Peter and Paul Okoye can apologize for their attack on the Kuti name and Seun forgive them. Being a Grammy nominee living in the trenches beats living in mansions with no Grammy nominations. Made Kuti should not have been dragged into this. He’s the youngest in the music and must carry the legacy not the trauma. Let’s guard our tongues during #Nigeriadecides2023. I rarely discuss politics as it’s a newsbeat I don’t cover. Let’s not forget Uncle Wole is also watching this. Respect the history of the Kutis and always remember journalism is a rough draft of history. Wole Soyinka is Mrs Kuti’s nephew. “
Thanks for reading🙏🏽

“SEUN KUTI VS PSQUARE
When I was sexually assaulted at 13yo in the dead of night on Ikorodu rd, Lagos April 28th 1978 during the #Alimustgo riots, my late 8yo brother Akintayo lost half of his brain and lived 43yrs on a wheelchair with his livelihood gone. Our crime: We were kids riding in a government car and UNILAG students were protesting increased tuition. We were entering Lagos after 90 mins on the express from Ibadan in a 2 car convoy. The rioters and hoodlums attacked govt cars. We had no warning and the car radio was switched off. There was no internet or cellphones. There is a reason I’m telling this story: The room I was admitted to at LUTH was the same room and bed Grandma Funlayo Kuti DIED on 2 weeks earlier on April 13th 1978. Grandma was thrown from the second floor window by the army and police who came with axes attacking FELA, his brothers and band in this very dark time in history. Till today the Nigerian govt never apologized to the Kutis particularly Gen Obasanjo who ordered the raid. The African Shrine will forever be a solemn place to remember Grandma and Uncle Fela’s legacy. It is NOT A LOCAL SHRINE‼️It is where many of us pay respect to the late Kuti family members who passed on. Grandma, FELA, Uncle Beko and Uncle Olikoye served this country in different areas. Don’t diminish their legacy. It is wrong to refer to their iconic landmark home as a “local shrine” at the expense of Peter Obi’s campaign. Obi will not approve of this manner of reckless talk. Today I’m listed in Wikipedia under Nigerian Women Activists alongside Grandma Funlayo Kuti. Who would have thought?👀 I once messaged Seun in 2014 that Grandma left something in that hospital bed mattress that entered me springing me into activism. We laughed and joked about it. Seun never met her as he was not born.”
