The Fulani socio-cultural association, Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), has denied endorsing the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Bola Tinubu for the 2023 election.
The National President of MACBAN, Baba Usman-Ngelzarma, said this in an interview with newsmen in Abuja on Friday.
A report emerged earlier this week alleging agreements between Miyetti Allah officials and Tinubu’s camp and both sides signed the dotted lines — “an indication that they would work together to ensure that the presidential campaign of the APC wins the election and succeed President Muhammadu Buhari”.
But reacting to those claims, Usman-Ngelzarma said: “First of all I will have to make clarification because there are two Miyetti Allah groups. We have the Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore and the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), which is the one I represent as the National President.
In his words, “As far as my association, the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria is concerned, we have not endorsed any presidential candidate.
“We are still waiting for all the presidential candidates to answer our questions on the seven- point demands we raised and presented copies of a letter containing our demands to them.
“Up till now, we have not received any consent from any of the presidential candidates. So, until when we receive one before we begin to analyse and consider within the shortest time we have and decide whether we can endorse or not.”
2023 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION:IT IS WRONG TO SAY “EMI LOKAN”-OBASANJO CRITICISES TINUBU

The former Nigerian President, Olusegun Obasanjo, has condemned the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, for saying ’emi lokan’.
Tinubu, in the buildup to the APC presidential primary election, had claimed that he was the next person to become the President of Nigeria, saying, “It is my turn.”
In a letter on Sunday, Obasanjo said: “Let me say straight away that ‘Emi Lokan’ (My turn) and ‘I have paid my dues’ are one and the same thing and are wrong attitude and mentality for the leadership of Nigeria now.”
Those claims, according to Obasanjo, “cannot form the new pedestal to reinvent and to invest in a new Nigeria based on an All-Nigeria Government for the liberation and restoration of Nigeria.”
Obasanjo said no individual can claim he has the absolute solutions to Nigeria’s myriad of problems, stating that “the solution should be in ‘we’ and ‘us’ and not in ‘me’ and ‘I’.”
