A video has emerged online, showing the moment a crowd of lawyers at the ongoing Nigeria Bar Association general conference in Lagos cheered Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party upon his arrival at the event.
In the video that was seen by Mataza Arising, the lawyers erupted with joy the moment Peter Obi was ushered into the event which also had the attendance of the Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the People Democratic Party PDP.
Asides Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar, present at the event, two other leading presidential candidates, Bola Tinubu of All Progressive Congress and Rabiu Kwankwaso of New Nigeria People’s Party were also invited.
Tinubu is represented by his running mate, Kashim Shettima.
Literary icon and playwright, Chimamanda Adichie, is also said to be attending the opening ceremony of the conference at the Eko Hotels and Suites in Lagos.
According to the NBA’s Technical Committee on Conference Planning (TCCP), Adichie will deliver the keynote speech at the event.
Speaking about his attendance at the event, Atiku took to his Twitter handle to say it will be a ‘bold engagement.’
He wrote: “A little while ago, I arrived at the Eko Hotel, venue of the Nigeria Bar Association 62nd annual conference. It promises to be a bold engagement.”
