Family, friends set up Michael Awe Trust Fund towards befitting burial and family upkeep
It is with heavy heart that I announce the sudden and unexpected passing of one of the friends of Mataz Arising, a good man, kind enough to contribute to one of our goals of proffering solutions to personal and private issues affecting people, from relationships to religion, to mental and physical health, he is Mr. Awe, known by his pen name, Mike West.
Mr. Awe passed on on Saturday June 9, 2022 after a ghastly motor accident.
Thank you my friend, my egbon, my pastor as I called you, for your great works to mankind. The legacy you left behind will forever live after you, it is a great one!
You will be greatly missed.

By popular demand from friends, fans, admirers and well-wishers of ace columnist and relationship coach, Michael Awe, aka Michael West, a TRUST FUND has been established to quickly score the following goals :
- Offset all hospital/mortuary bills and charges.
- Purchase a piece of land on the outskirts of Lagos where the late Michael Awe will be laid to rest. In his lifetime, Mike detested private/public cemeteries; he can also not be interred at his country home because his aged mother resides there.
- Rapidly begin the construction of a decent structure on the land so that Mike can finally be laid to rest there by the end of next month (July 2022).
- Give Mike a befitting burial as a child of God that he was.
- Deploy whatever is left of the Fund for the upkeep of his children, one of whom is an undergraduate.
Mike died in a ghastly motor accident along the Lagos – Ibadan expressway on Saturday, June 11, 2022.
A release issued by Mr. Bola Bolawole, friend and erstwhile boss of the late Michael Awe, said family members, friends and fans agreed to solicit for funds for the purposes itemised above.
He then enjoined everyone to donate generously to the fund.

The persons listed hereunder shall jointly oversee the account.
- Samuel Kehinde Oni-Awe (Representative of the children).
- Pastor Otuyemi Henry Bonnke (Representative of the Awe family)
- Mr. Bola Bolawole (Representative of friends, fans, admirers and well-wishers).
All three (3) Representatives shall authorize every transaction pertaining to the account during the duration of Michael Awe’s burial.
A detailed and comprehensive account of income and expenditure shall be given at the end of the burial ceremonies.
