The next phase of the Fulanization and the Islamization agenda of the Fulani jihadists has been kickstarted if one is to go by the press briefing of the police officer, it seems.
Indigenous Nigeria under the government of President Buhari have been under incessant and relentless attacks from terrorists and terrorist bandits.
In 2020, the late Obadia Malaifa claimed during a BBC radio station interview, Nigeria Info 99.3 FM alleged that a Nigerian governor was one of the commanders of Boko Haram.
He said the group planned to start a second civil war with the movement of arms to parts of the country during the COVID-19 lockdown.
He further alleged that armed gunmen had moved into rainforests and other locations in readiness to carry out their nefarious plans, even as he disclosed that part of the plans included moving into the cities to kill prominent citizens.
Following the allegations, the Department of State Services (DSS) had invited Mailafia to its Plateau State command where he was grilled for seven hours and later released.
The Northern Governors Forum (NGF) at the time, and and Governor of Plateau State Simon Lalong came out and demanded that the allegation was weighty and must be thoroughly investigated.
Watch a short clip of the interview:
As Nigerians assess, and reassess the unprovoked and the indiscriminate killings of innocent indegenous Nigerians in their ancestral lands, the movements of Fulani in trailer loads in their thousands from northern Nigeria to Southern Nigeria with arms and ammunitions hidden in different parts of the trailers, the take over of the forests in the Southwest by this same Fulani, not only from Nigeria, but from foreign countries, the freedom and frequency with which the attacks are carried out, and the regularity without any notable arrest and prosecution of these perpetrators, it definitely seems that the apple is not falling far from the tree.
The kidnaps of our pastors, priests, traditional rulers, politicians, socialites, attacks on Nigeria’s military headquarters, installations, police stations, transportation channels like roads, airports and trains, places of worship, killing worshippers in our our churches, Owo being the latest.
All of these, again, without any notable arrests that has led to criminal convictions against perpetrators. When they are caught, they are “reformed” and reintegrated into our armed forces and society, REALLY?
Is the government telling us that the Nigerian security apparatus do not have intelligence on these killers? This is the same Nigerian Army that led ECOMOG twice to end civil wars in Sierra Leone and Liberia.
When one considers all of the above, it begs the question, was the late Malaifa really wrong, or did he know too much?
It is left to the region’s leaders to protect the lives and properties of their people at any and all costs since the federal government seem to not be interested or incapable of protecting them.
I rest
