Former Nigeria’s ambassador to the Republic of Netherlands, Dr Nimota Nihinlola Akanbi, has clarified that the sumptuously stuffed plate of food her police orderly was seen carrying after her food at a buffet in viral video was not hers but the policeman’s.
It is, however, unclear if police regulations allow a policeman on duty to be so free at the buffet while on detail assignment.
The social media has been fizzing with the video with condemnatory responses from the public on what appears to be the use of a Nigerian Police officer in such a demeaning manner.
But Akanbi, also the chairman of the Governing Board of National Secondary School Education, made the clarification in a statement in Ilorin on Wednesday.
She said that her police orderly was carrying his own food at a community engagement they both attended in Ilorin, Kwara State.
“The truth is that I allowed him ( police orderly) to pick his food. I am a teacher and disciplinarian,” she explained.
The former envoy urged Nigerians to disregard the viral video, saying that it might be the handiwork of her detractors.
True to form as they never disappoint, they blame their ‘victims, their detractors, the devil and the public’s reations.
Hear her; “she understands the importance and nature of the work of security operatives” and that she would never do anything to demean them.
Others must be responsible but never them! We can’t and shouldn’t fall for this crap, and it has to stop.
I do not know any policeman that will do this for himself behind his oga at a party without being disciplined.
Or is madam ambassador trying to tell Nigerians that the blue purse underneath the plate the ploliceman was carrying is his? Please watch the video again or look at the picture below, and you will see the blue pure to match madam’s gele, (Headtie)
Or may be she went to the food kiosk to just look and go back.
The Nigerian police force does not have enough police officers to protect and serve the citizens, and many of those that are left are in their oga’s gates and houses and cars, they perform duties like holding umbrellas for ogas, fanning madam to carrying madam’s bags. See below please!
The above speaks for itself.
These ‘big people’ have more than enough financial resources to hire private security guards from private security firms scattered all over the country, they also have house maids and house help that can carry their bags, umbrellas, fan them and even bathe them, if they so wish!
MaTaZ ArIsInG and all connected with the media platform do not take joy in people’s misfortune, and or misadventure, we are not an organization that look to cause others unnecessary pain, or are we a kill joy. Our mission is to hold public officials accountable, to expose bad behavior, oppression, evil and fraud whenever and wherever they rear their heads as much as possible. We will always try to also speak for the weak and the voiceless in our societies.
Our ‘big people’ need to treat our security forces/agents and Law Enforcement Officers with respect and dignity and compensate them appropriately.
