Two dismissed officers of the Nigeria Police Force, Kwara State Command, Babatunde Glorious and Shola Akawo have narrated how they were falsely accused of fraud and dismissed for refusing an N8 million bribe to compromise a case. (Please Watch & Listen To Their Story}
Their story sounds credible to me. To many Nigerians, the Nigerian Police Force is a criminal enterprise.
Those officers should be given their jobs back and be decorated, if not then the NPF is another worrisome cartel hurting Nigeria
Unfortunately, those who are skeptical of these two officer’s stories, for whatever reason, will aregue that these same complainants are/were part of “THE CRIMINAL ENTERPRISE” that The Nigerian Police are regarded as. This just shows thatTHE NIGERIAN PEOPLE DO NOT TRUST THE NIGERIAN POLICE!
Whichever way one loos at it, from their statements in the video clip, one can conclude that the meat of their story, is that their seniors trying to cover up a crime, then framing them and dismissing them.
The least the Inspector Generally should do is to call for an open enquiry into these allegations, however, people Nigerians are concerned that those who will investigate this matter may be worse than the people who committed the original offence.
Due to the lack of trust of the police from the Nigerian public, the IG, Mohammed Adamu has another opportunity to win over some semblance of trust of the people by conducting a free, fair and just inquiry into these allegations, and do so quickly, and offenders must be punished, there should be no sacred cow.
Please share until it gets to the appropriate authorities and something done about the case. Honest people should not be or allowed to be punished if Nigeria is to get rid of the endemic corruption that is killing the country!!!
