Congratulations to Oborodudu who just won the first silver medal for Nigeria in this year’s Olympics in Tokyo, she was beaten by her American opponent, Tamayra Mensah Stock. Oborodudu was not at her best today during her wrestling match, the American’s tactics seem to have worked very well as she fought Oborodudu from the outside which hampered the Nigerian from executing her inside game which is where her strength lies.
In the face of the maladministration that trailed our athletes in this year’s Olympics, from being heckled on the train in Austria, to eleven of our athletes being disqualified from the games, Oborodudu deserves all the credit in the world for her achievement; it is not an easy feat.
Thank you Blessing for bringing Nigerians some pride and smiles in this trying period of the nation’s history, where the news coming from the country has been depressing.
