IN MY OPINION
SETTING ITEMS ABLAZE IN THE SUPERMARKET
- Review of the Video Clip showed that the girl set ablaze some items below the cooking gas cylinders
- The item set on fire further exploded and led to explosion of the cooking gas cylinders.
VERDICT:
The Action of the girl is called ARSON
Being 9 year old, she cannot be Convicted and sentenced to jail or correctional home for the felonious act
OUTSIDE THE SUPERMARKET
Clip 2
Revealed that the 9 year old left the supermarket accompanied by an adult lady and a second adult lady also trailing behind them.
INTERROGATION BY THE POLICE
Clip 3
Revealed the interrogation of the girl by the police officer. The girl’s affect did not show any anxiety or guilt for setting the building on fire.
DISCUSSIONS
What are the reasons for Arson ( the list is endless)
- Revenge
- Terrorism
- Pranks / Mischief
- Insurance fraud
- Deception or cover up of another crime
- War
Factors to consider in forming an opinion
- Is the act deliberate
- Is the act accidentally
- Is the perpetrator of majority age or minor
- Is the perpetrator of sound mind
- Is the person acting in concert with other persons
- Is the perpetrator acting under influence of drugs
- Is the perpetrator acting under the instruction of a master, guardian or superior officer.
- Does the perpetrator have a track record of previous felonious act
ANALYSIS
- The Action was deliberate and the girl ensured the ignition was established by revisiting the crime scene to observe the burning of the items on the shelves
- Walking outside the building of the supermarket with the adult lady, the girl did not show any emotion that she had set the building ablaze
- A lady was observed to have crossed the aisle of crime scene dressed in trousers and ladies shoes as the girl ignited the items. Could this be the same lady that escorted her home?
- The lady and the girl did not appear panicked or empathetic for the owners of the supermarket from their affect as the building
CONCLUSION
- In my opinion, the arson was well planned and executed by the 9 year old girl.
- If the girl were of majority age, she would be profiled as a psychopath. Her innocuous affect is incongruous to the criminal act that she carried out.
- An interrogation of the two ladies accompanying the 9 year old girl is mandatory for possible confessions
- The reason for the arson is most likely a revenge which was excuted for the ladies found with her outside the supermarket.
