Basil Okoh
Nigeria unravels like a slow motion movie as legislators reject progress symbolised by the simple, cheap, easy and tamper-proof electronic transmission of election results. We reject progress in every way we confront it.
We die in all sorts of ways daily and Nigeria has become a large coven where progress becomes an impossibility. We are running downhill to hades and we seem unable to apply the brakes.
We march down to hades determinedly with our eyes wide and wildly open and we are incapable of changing course.
Those who reject progress because it prevents them from rigging future elections has gone ahead to yoke the electoral body INEC to a dependent agency of Government NCC which they themselves control.
The mostly Northern senators’ perfidy is clever and self serving no doubt but it will also be self destructive in the end. We will sit on the sideline to watch the fight ensuing from the submission of false and contested polling results, no doubt.
Every action taken in preservation of the false narrative of ethnic supremacy assures us that we will see the end of Nigeria soon and very soon. We keenly await judgement day.
YOU HAD IT COMING LAURETTA.
You came like a drunken woman on the loose, brawling, trashing, abusing, perverting and hitting out at everyone who wanted good for fatherland. You loved to be called a Buharista, a heretic and iconoclast, a thousand devil’s in one being. How does anyone exorcise a thousand demons in one woman?
It brought a job and so much money but no friends.
Now you have been thrown under the bus by people you assumed were your friends. You were too raw to be let into the bus or the establishment. But you didn’t know it.
Not a single voice in the Senate said yeah to your nomination as INEC Commissioner. No, not even one.
You have no friends, Lauretta.
Go home and mourn.
