United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents have arrested a Nigerian national in Minnesota who was convicted of fraud and impersonation.
The U.S Department Homeland Security (DHS) confirmed the arrest of Michael Opeoluwa Egbele in a brief statement on Wednesday, January 14, 2026.
“Michael Opeoluwa Egbele, a criminal illegal alien from Nigeria convicted of fraud – impersonating,” the post read.
Egbele was among a slew of illegal immigrants arrested in Minnesota on Tuesday, including several convicted of s3xual assault and drug trafficking.
The arrests were part of Operation Metro Surge, the Trump administration’s effort to arrest illegal aliens in the Twin Cities, which began in December.
