The death of the former senator was confirmed by the Governor of Delta State, Sheriff Oborevwori, who expressed deep sorrow over the loss.

Former Nigerian lawmaker, Senator Peter Nwaoboshi, has been reported dead, according to SaharaReporters.
The former lawmaker who represented Delta North Senatorial District, passed away on Friday at the age of 68.
The death of the former senator was confirmed by the Governor of Delta State, Sheriff Oborevwori, who expressed deep sorrow over the loss.
In a condolence message issued through his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, the governor described Nwaoboshi as a proud son of Delta State and a courageous defender of the Anioma cause.
Governor Oborevwori said the late senator’s contributions to nation-building and the political development of Delta State would remain indelible, noting his years of dedicated service to the people.
Senator Nwaoboshi represented Delta North in the National Assembly and was a prominent member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) during his active political career.
He also served twice as Chairman of the PDP in Delta State, playing a key role in strengthening the party’s structure within the state.
His death was also confirmed by the Deputy Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Arthur Akpowowo.
In a post on his Facebook page, Akpowowo described the late senator as a leader, mentor, and friend.
“I just lost my senior brother, boss, leader, and friend, Distinguished Senator Peter Onyeluka Nwaoboshi,” Akpowowo wrote.
He added, “While I mourn with his immediate family, the Nwaboshis, Ibusa community, Oshimili North, and the entire Delta State, I pray the Almighty God to accept his soul and grant him eternal rest.”
