Mataz Arising learnt that the adopted son identified as Adam was raised by the police chief since he was two.
Olatunji Disu, the Commissioner of Police for the Federal Capital Territory’s (FCT) son was alone in a BMW when he tragically died in a horrific car accident on Monday.
“Adam was not his (Tunji Disu’s) biological son but he raised him since he was two years old. Adam was 33 years old and had just completed his NYSC (National Youth Service Corps) programme last year,” another source added.
“The car caught fire as it rolled over after crashing into a ditch.”
Family sources have described the loss as heartbreaking.
Disu recently assumed leadership of the FCT Police Command.
The news of his adopted son’s demise has sparked an outpouring of condolences from colleagues, friends, and the general public.
Disu himself on Monday, paid a condolence visit to CSP A.A. Sambo, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Ushafa Division, who also tragically lost his son.
During the visit, CP Disu expressed heartfelt sympathies and assured CSP Sambo and his family of the Command’s unwavering support during this difficult time.
