Former VP Atiku Loses Pioneer Media Team Member, Ifeanyi Izeze

Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, has announced the death of Mr. Ifeanyi Izeze, a pioneering member of his media team.

The development was disclosed in a statement issued on Sunday by his Media Adviser, Paul Ibe.

According to the statement, Izeze joined Atiku’s media team in 2006 after leaving the Aluminium Smelter Company of Nigeria (ALSCON) in Ikot-Abasi, where he served as an office manager.

The statement noted that Izeze brought extensive experience from both journalism and Nigeria’s oil and gas sector, playing a significant role in shaping media strategies and campaign policies for Atiku, particularly in the Niger Delta region.
Izeze studied Geology at the University of Port Harcourt up to postgraduate level before later transitioning into journalism.

During his journalism career, he reported extensively on the oil and gas industry for publications including Sunray, Anchor and NewAge newspapers before joining ALSCON.

Beyond his professional career, Izeze was widely known for his rich sense of humour and deep Christian faith. He was an ordained preacher in the Christ Embassy church and was also active in the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria.
He is survived by his children, grandchildren and his elder brother,

Emeka Izeze, a respected media professional associated with The Guardian Newspapers.
The family has yet to announce funeral arrangements.
