ABUJA – Ossai Ovie, Senior Special Assistant on Media to the Delta State Governor, has accused former presidential candidate Peter Obi of leaving a trail of chaos in every political party he has joined, claiming the former Anambra governor “scattered” APGA, PDP, and Labour Party before allegedly causing tension in his latest party, the ADC.
In a scathing statement published on his Facebook and X platforms, Ovie alleged that Obi “entered APGA, scattered it and then moved to PDP,” asserting that after serving as the vice-presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), he left the party in disarray.
According to him, Obi subsequently joined the Labour Party, where he contested the 2023 presidential election, but again left the party weakened before moving on.
“He entered Labour Party, not only did he scatter it, he destroyed the party, then moved into ADC. Now it is shaking vigorously because he wants them to gift him the presidential ticket. He doesn’t want to go for primary election. I am really disappointed,” Ovie stated.
The Delta governor’s aide further alleged that Obi’s recent association with the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has generated internal tension within the party over the issue of its presidential ticket.
Obi, a former governor of Anambra State, has yet to publicly respond to the claims.
Political observers note that movements between parties have been a recurring feature of Nigeria’s political landscape, especially in the build-up to general elections.
