President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Nkanu Nnamdi, the 21-month-old son of renowned Nigerian author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie and her husband, Dr. Ivara Esege.

President Tinubu, who noted that he speaks as a parent who has also experienced the pain of losing a loved one, said his heart goes out to the family during this profoundly difficult time. He emphasized that no words can fully capture the depth of such a loss, but reassured them of his empathy and solidarity as they mourn.
The President also paid tribute to Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, describing her as a literary icon whose works have brought light, joy, and inspiration to homes across the world. He prayed that she and her family would find strength, comfort, and peace in God as they navigate this painful moment.
He concluded by reaffirming that his thoughts and prayers remain with the family as they grieve the untimely loss of their son.
The condolence message was officially issued by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
