ADC chieftain Aisha Yesufu has cautioned the 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, against serving as a deputy to any presidential contender in the 2027 election.
In a video currently making the rounds on social media, Aisha, a popular socio-political activist vowed that she would work against any presidential ticket that has Obi as vice.
According to her, the former Anambra State governor is the best among the aspirants and should be given the presidential ticket.
She said, “I’m giving you people my word. If Peter Obi emerges as a running mate to anyone, I will work against that ticket.
“In my little capacity, I will work against them even if I don’t support any other candidates. Why are we always asking the best to be the second?”
Recall that Obi, who joined the ADC, a party adopted by a coalition of opposition leaders plotting President Bola Tinubu’s removal, is one of the aspirants eyeing the party’s ticket.
There are, however, indications that former vice president, Atiku Abubakar may emerge the flagbearer of the party and possibly pick Obi as deputy.
