Onanuga had accused Ejimakor of failing to abide by the principles of sub-judice by joining the free Nnamdi Kanu protest convened by Sowore in Abuja.

Human rights lawyer, Inibehe Effiong has lashed out at presidential spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, over his verbal attack on Nnamdi Kanu’s lawyer,
Recall that Onanuga had accused Ejimakor of failing to abide by the principles of sub-judice by joining the free Nnamdi Kanu protest convened by Sowore in Abuja.
He accused Kanu’s Special Counsel of resorting to extra legal tactics in his push for his client’s freedom.
Activist politician, Omoyele Sowore led a protest in Abuja on Monday, calling for the release Nnamdi Kanu, the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.
“I am not aware of any law or ethical rule in the legal profession that prohibits a legal practitioner or a counsel on record from taking part in a peaceful demonstration to ask or demand for the release of his client,” Effiong wrote on X.
“Your postulation is borne out of mischief. You cannot dictate to a Nigerian when or for what purpose to protest.
“The fact that your cowardly regime has unleashed violence on peaceful protesters is what you should be addressing.”
The police arrested Ejimakor, during the #FreeNnamdiKanuProtest on Monday in Abuja.
Ejimakor, along with Fineboy Kanu ; a relative of the IPOB leader; and several others, were reportedly apprehended by officers of the Federal Capital Territory Police Command.
