A group of Ghanaians on Wednesday stormed the Nigerian High Commission at Roman Ridge, Accra, to protest what they described as harassment, intimidation, and repeated violations of the rights of their fellow citizens living in Nigeria by the Nigerian Police and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The protesters under the umbrella of Concerned citizens for Economic Justice anf Freedom emphasized the need for diplomatic intervention to ensure that Ghanaian businesses were protected in Nigeria.
The convener, James Clark, condemned what he described as targeted attacks on Ghanaian businesses operating in Nigeria, called on President Bola Tinubu and former Ghanaian President ,John Mahama to intervene.
In the video of the protest at the Nigeria High Commission in Ghana, which has gone viral on social media, Clark, a Ghanian actor, said, “ As a Ghanaian citizen, I believe it is our duty to support fellow Ghnians facing challenges worldwide, by reaching out to relevant authorities to ensure peaceful resolution and allow businessmen like Essien Jonah , who is main business man.
He has a couple of Ghainains who work for him in Nigeria. Some Ngerians were harrassing him. He went to court and succeeded .
“Our Ghanians brothers in Nigeria are being harrased. We just want the Commissioner to talk to the Nigeria IGP, the Immigration offcer and the President to restore peace.
Mewanhile, a Federal High Court in Abuja has restrained the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Olukayode Egbetokun, the Commissioner of Police of the FCT, Ajao Saka Adewale, and the Head of the IGP Monitoring Unit at the Force Headquarters, DCP Akin Fakorede, and others from continuous violation and obstruction in connection with the River Park Estate dispute.
Justice Obiora Egwuatu, in a ruling on an ex parte motion on Wednesday, ordered the parties before him not to take any action that will foist a “fait accompli” on the court in the matter.
The judge fixed June 26 for the commencement of the hearing on the land dispute.
