An Ikeja high court has dismissed the defamation suit filed by Femi Falana, the human rights lawyer, and his son Falz against VeryDarkMan (VDM).

VDM had shared a purported audio conversation wherein the crossdresser Bobrisky alleged Falana and Falz contacted her while she was serving a six-month sentence for naira abuse.
However, the crossdresser denied the recording’s authenticity and threatened to sue VeryDarkMan for alleged defamation.
The Falana family also demanded a retraction and apology, threatening legal action.
The activist, however, refused to apologise, arguing that he exposed corruption and did not defame anyone, prompting Falana to proceed with the legal action.
NAN reports that Matthias Dawodu, the presiding judge, struck out the case, adding that it was redundant since the main suit is already before another court.
Niyi Alagbe, VDM’s representative, told the court he had filed an application to stop the case before Fimisola Azeez, another judge.
However, Omotayo Olatunbosun, Falanas’ counsel, argued that he received the application late on Monday and claimed it was a move to delay the case.
He urged the court to proceed with the preliminary objection, which was already set for hearing.
The judge also said the application was not in his file and questioned why he was handling the case when the main suit was already before another court.
The Falanas and VDM were, however, absent during the court session.
