“You Were Mute On Plateau Massacre, You Can Pay The Ransom”- Tweeps Blast Atiku For Criticizing The Murder Of Nabeeha By Kidnappers
Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate in the 2023 election and former vice president of Nigeria, has expressed his condolences over the tragic death of Nabeeha Al-Kadriyar, who was killed by her abductors in Abuja.
In a statement shared on his official social media handle on Sunday, Atiku lamented that Nabeeha’s murder highlighted the unimpeded operations of kidnappers and bandits in Nigeria. He called for a comprehensive overhaul of the country’s security architecture to curb the unchecked activities of criminal elements and ensure the safety of lives and property.
“I am saddened by reports of the brutal murder of Nabeeha Al-Kadriyar, who was abducted with her siblings and has been in the custody of their abductors for almost two weeks. This is yet another reminder that kidnappers and bandits are operating unhindered in our country,” Atiku stated.
He emphasized the urgency of restructuring the security framework to quell the activities of criminal elements and safeguard the well-being of citizens. Atiku urged security agencies to intensify their efforts to rescue the remaining hostages still in the custody of the kidnappers.
The recent kidnapping incident occurred approximately two weeks ago when bandits abducted Alhaji Mansoor Al-Kadriyar and his six children in the Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory. Nabeeha, a 400-level biological science student at Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, was among the abducted. Tragically, she was laid to rest according to Islamic rites on Saturday.
The family had received ransom demands initially set at N60 million, but the amount escalated to N100 million after Nabeeha’s untimely death. The incident sparked outrage on social media, with Nigerians advocating for justice for Nabeeha and the safe release of her remaining siblings.
The Nigeria Police Force spokesperson, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, assured the public that efforts were underway to rescue the abducted individuals. He requested relevant information to aid the ongoing investigations.
Although the comment section under Atiku’s tweet doesnt look good, take a look at some below:
Mayor Of Ekiti Disciple: “Mute on Plateau Massacre, Celebrate PDP wins on the Plateau Speak on the murder of Nabeeha Everything is just politics to you lots Sentimental in sympathy. Mr Abubakar, you’ll never be Nigerian president With due respect sir.”
Finbarr: “Why you mute on the Massacre in Plateau?.”
Dr Gaza Kure: ” I hope this message reaches you in good health. Your perceived inconsistency raises concerns about your suitability as a leader. It appears that your decisions are influenced by sentiment rather than a commitment to the diverse needs of Nigeria. Your actions, such as not acknowledging the tragedy on Christmas Day in Plateau State but celebrating party victories there, contribute to this perception. Recognizing the importance of unity in a multicultural nation like Nigeria is crucial. Your recent expressions of sympathy for Najeebah’s death, juxtaposed with past incidents, reinforce concerns about political and religious bias. As you clearly had deleted your tweet on the death of Deborah but tweeted for Najeebah. It’s essential for leaders to transcend party and religious lines and prioritize the well-being of the entire nation. Your potential presidency, given these observations, might have posed challenges for Nigeria. Best regards.”
Baqir: “Dear former vice president. You shouldn’t be dragging Innalillahi with us at this moment. You have what it takes to rescue these girls. Think of them as your own daughters. Are you going to wait for security to rescue them or you’ll pay for the ransom? Think of them as your daughters.”
Credo: “When you shalaye finish Kindly tell us why you deleted the tweet about this girl murdered by your people .”
X User: “You alone can pay the entire ransom demanded for the Release of the Captives in a blink of an eye! There’s always a debate about whether paying ransoms is the best way forward but just think what if your father/mother is held hostage by kidnappers Would you even hesitate to pay? #Najeebaandhersisters.”
