About 2,322 delegates from across the country stormed the Eagles Square to elect the flag bearer of the party ahead of the 2023 general elections.
The closest person to Tinubu is Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi with 316 votes. Vice President Yemi Osinbajo came 3rd with 235 Votes.
Tinubu, the newly elected presidential candidate for All Progressive Congress party has taken one step closer to achieving according to him, his life ambition.
Tinubu, the man with 9 lives was able to pull the cat out of the bag despite his health issues, gaffes and his most recent outbursts, 2 of which he blasted professor Yemi Osinbajo after he declared his intentions to run for APC’s presidential ticket. When he was asked a question about his ‘son’ declaring to run for APC candidate, Tinubu responded by saying, “I have no son old enough to run for president”.
The plot to stop Asiwaju seemed to have been put in place and started when Adamu was ‘brought’ from PDP and made the chairman of APC, and some of the most powerful positions in the party filled with northerners. The watching public including me believed that the party had been snatched away from Tinubu and that it was a matter of time before they pushed him out of the party; how wrong was I.
If that was a sign of things to come, Tinubu’s disappointment came to a head in Abeokuta when it looked like the cabal was planning to choose a consensus candidate in an effort to sideline his efforts to get the ticket, he blasted Dapo Abiodun, Ogun State Governor, when he condescendingly referred to him as ‘eleyi’ (this one), and blasted Buhari by reminding him that without God and him Bola Tinubu, “ko le di president’ (he couldn’t have become president). He then demanded for Buhari and his cabal to “e gbe kini yi wa, emi lokan’ (give me this candidacy, it’s my turn). Again people wrote him off, again, they’ve been proven wrong.
Prior to Abeokuta, millions of those who do not support Tinubu have pointed to his shady academic and family background which they posit that nobody knows anything about, that Tinubu’s person is shrouded in mysteries.
These were the enormity of his challenges and the powers that were put in place to derail and to stop Asiwaju in his tracks towards becoming the party’s presidential flag bearer.
Looking at Tinubu’s political antecedents, no matter what happens from here on, he is an enigma, a political genius, and a man of destiny.
Yes, he may have health issues, if it didn’t please God, he will not allow him to win the ticket.
Like one of my cousins always say, in all of it, “underestimate the Jagaban at your peril’, so it has proven to date.
Reno Omokri wrote and I quote;
“In any case, what Tinubu has proved today is that an unhealthy man with strategic ability to plan, will be more successful than 13 healthy men without a strategic planning ability. He also proved that even if you can’t stand, those who can stand will stand down for you if you can stand your ground”
Mataz Arising congratulate the Jagaban of Borgu, Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu, on his victory as the Presidentíal flag bearer of All Progressives Party!
GOD bless and be with you in all of your forthcoming endeavors.
I congratulate Professor Yemi Osinbajo, Rotimi Amaechi and all the presidential aspirants who gave their all to fight for their rights, which is to aspire for the number 1 position in our country.
Let all APC members shield their swords and rally round the elected candidate in Tinubu, to ensure he wins the presidency proper, come 2023, as the battle has only just begun.
