Atiku Abubakar is a seasonal locust of no fixed location who hops from one farm to the other looking for where the harvests are ripe and ready. There, he and his breed devastate and despoil the farm and then move on to another one the next season.
Atiku Abubakar like the locust, does not sow, does not weed and does not cultivate, only to “come and eat” at harvest time, one farm in one season and another farm in the next.
Atiku was nurtured and nourished fat in the Custom and Excise Department, where he learnt and mastered the art of free-loading on other people’s sweat at custom points at the borders, stiffing importers for his own gain and seizing the goods of those who wouldn’t pay his exactions.
He carried all that attitude of self-entitlement to politics and has contested to be president of Nigeria five unsuccesful times from four different political parties. He did not help to build any of the political parties, only coming at harvest time to want to be the presidential candidate.
He is throwing his weight around again in the PDP, the third time he will be running to be president on the platform of the party. He has never helped to build the PDP. He causes a quarrel and then runs away and comes back after squandering the little goodwill in other political platforms.
His only testimonial for wanting to be president is that he is Fulani and Fulani are entitled to rule Nigeria in perpetuity. It does not matter to him that the current president is Fulani and would not make good sense for a Fulani to hand over the presidency to another Fulani in a multi-ethnic country where Fulani are not even indigenous. Fulani are not part of the land, the “Terra Firma” of Nigeria.
Atiku Abubakar and the rest of his kind have engineered the forced exit of Peter Obi from the presidential nomination contest of the PDP. By that action, PDP lost its shining and guiding light into the presidential election and have therefore lost the election before it even starts. PDP will pay for losing Peter Obi by also losing the 2023 presidential election.
By forcing Peter Obi out, PDP lost what was building as a winning wave through Obi’s endearment with youth and the entire Nigerian people. The movement was already spreading, surging on and resonating with old and young across the country. Its towering wave was already reaching to the ends of the nation, across tribes, across tongues and across territories.
PDP lost all that because it gathered crabs for presidential aspirants who wouldn’t see another person rise and help the country climb out of the hell hole that they themselves have dug in today’s Nigeria. So, so sad.
