Another one again. It is understood that the young man in the video who resides in Abuja, invited his mum for a visit, but unknown to the mother, his intention was to kill her for money ritual.
At some point during the mother’s visit, he stabbed the mum several times but she fought back. During the struggle with him, the woman and her son both fell out of the window drawing the attention of people who then apprehended the man.
This scourge has become widespread among Nigerian youths who it seems have moved on to ritual killings for money from yahoo to yahoo plus to now ritual killings.
The question is, how did we get here? Is it mental laziness? Is it poverty?
How can any mind even entertain the thought of doing that to any human being not to talk of his mother? And these evil men are in their hundreds, if not thousands.
How can they believe rituals will bring wealth without repercussions? Haba! How many Babalawos have become a Dangote
To many, this is purely human made and it requires human solutions. The developed world provide solutions to their problem and we provide excuses, it seems.
Reactions from a WhatsApp group:
LA: The lust for instant wealth! Our values have been debased, everyone wants to blow and flex in expensive cars and designer wares, regardless of what it takes.
If you guys can recall what happened in the eighties with drug trafficking epidemic and how it suddenly went down when Buhari and Idiagbon government executed three traffickers. Something like that is needed now; but I don’t think these politicians will do anything because many of them are also ritualists.
IO: For many of the offences our people commit, there should be quick trials and quicker public executions. It is not what one wants but it is needed if sanity is to return to our land!
