Senator Alli Ndume is the senator representing Borno South in the ongoing 9th senate of the 4th republic. He is a sincerely outspoken member of the senate of Nigeria presently.
He may not agree with the conclusion that his statements below draw on the religious zealotry and violent insurgency that plagues Northeastern Nigeria.
The war against ISWAP, Boko Haram and all other insurgent groups in northeastern Nigeria has been betrayed beyond redemption and can no longer be won. Not by the Nigeria Army and not by any other force.
The war has been betrayed by internal traitors beyond redemption and is presently irretrievable. No matter how many men, arms and ammunition thrown into that war, the fight is already lost.
The Nigerian Government can keep throwing money and human assets into the war, it will remain a lost war and a lost cause. It’s only a fool soldier that will go fight in that war with any zeal or commitment.
The war has been overwhelmed by treachery, mercenary pursuits and betrayal. Nothing will change that now. This treachery and betrayal are by politicians, officers and men who should have owned the war and fought with zeal to save their land and territory.
The death of Brigadier General Dzarma Zirkusu was another grand betrayal of the good officers fighting the war. The ambush of his troops was based on information provided from within the armed forces. Let no one be deceived by the spin of the story from the military command.
A General and his troops were betrayed and killed. The army must take responsibility. The enemy knew that the General had received signals to provide reinforcement. The enemy also knew that the General was leading troops to the scene of battle. They had prepared a bomb laden truck which rammed into the Generals vehicle. That was targeted killing of a General of the Nigerian Army.
“Reacting, Senator Alli Ndume said ISWAP fighters killed the Brigadier General because he was a major obstacle to their operations in the area.
Speaking with journalists yesterday, the lawmaker said the terrorists rammed Zirkusu’s vehicle with a bomb-laden car.
According to Ndume: “They know that the general was the major obstacle to their operation. They laid an ambush and rammed a bomb-ladened car into his vehicle.
“The military is aware and the air force is providing surveillance in the area. It was a revenge mission. The army has been taking out key ISWAP commanders and they have their revenge”.
