A “VIP” Caught Supplying Arms & Army Uniforms To Terrorists In Zamfara
An unidentified ‘Very Important Person,’ who is said to be the former governor of Sokoto’s younger brother, was caught supplying arms and army uniforms to Bandits in Zamfara. The video below shows the suspect being interviewed in Hausa by Zamfara governor, Bello Muhammad Matawalle.
MaTaZ ArIsInG‘s investigation into this report shows that no media outfit/press in Nigeria has reported on the news apart from Koiki Media and TVC, who both shared the video on their YouTube channels five days after the video was leaked (October 6, 2021). News that naturally should be a big one.
Why tag him as a VIP? A man gets arrested red-handed for terrorism, he is being interviewed by the governor of a state in his office, is this the norm? In the same country, but in a different zone, an older man got arrested by the Nigerian army and the DSS for wearing an outfit. The criminal from the north is treated like royalty, while the an innocent citizen from the east is treated like a criminal, what an irony!
When indigenous Nigerians speak out against the preferential treatments one part of the country gets, even their criminals, to the detriment of all other parts of the country, they accuse them of hate speech, trying to burn the country down, sympathizing or associating with ‘secessionists’ as they put it and so on🤷🏿♂️.
If the Nigerian media have been intimidated and muscled to be quiet in the face of oppression, inequality and insecurity, what do Nigerians think is going to come out of the investigation, even as the governor appeared to be upset with the suspect? NOTHING, IT SEEMS! Cynics might argue that upset like, “how sloppy could you be”?
Is that the scene of a typical police station or the interrogation for someone caught aiding terrorism?
Who is he working for?
Who was he getting the arms from?
Who were his contacts?
What became of the intelligence report gathered from him?
What became of the case, did it make it to court?
Why did the media keep quiet about this?
In Nigeria under president Buhari, one may predict that nothing will happen to him at the end of the day. He may even end up becoming a minister, as one notable northern oligarch said that, a pardoned, re-orientated terrorist, reintegrated into the society can become the president of Nigeria.
Is president Buhari or his army and police chiefs not aware of this development because of the high profile nature of the suspect? If they are, what are they doing, or done about it? No statements? This is the same government that claimed to know the sponsors of self determination movements, but refuses to name the sponsors of terrorists, as Femi Adesina puts it, ‘they do not want to name and shame sponsors of terrorism’
Time will tell if the suspect will end up in a 7 star hotel in Dubai or in a Nigerian prison. Nigerians and the world should not be surprised if the suspect’s lawyer comes out in his defence that his interrogation is illegal because he was under duress when he confessed. This is the sad reality of today’s Nigeria.
Just before filing the report, a source claims that the suspect in the video has no relation with the former governor, that they are just from the same local government but not the same village; Bafarawa and Kamarawa are different, he said.
If this is true, then who is he that is so important, that he was being interviewed by the governor of Zamfara state in his office? Is this how it is done? Doesn’t he have a police commissioner or law enforcement officers to interrogate the suspect? How many of such has the governor interviewed in his office? All these questions beg for answers!
MaTaZ ArIsInG respectfully requests that the government or relevant authorities of Zamfara state refute or confirm the story, because, under the insecurity circumstances we have in the north and in the other parts of Nigeria, it is the right of Nigerians to know the truth of this matter, silence is no option.
