Says FX stabilising, investors returning
First Lady of Nigeria Oluremi Tinubu has urged voters in the North-Central region to support President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027, promising that the administration’s economic reforms would translate into greater prosperity if given a second term.

She said the government was moving from difficult reform measures to a phase of economic recovery and improved living conditions, citing signs of stabilisation in the foreign exchange market, renewed investor interest and infrastructure development across states.
Mrs Tinubu spoke on Saturday in Lafia, Nasarawa State, at the North-Central Grassroots Mobilisation Network’s grand rally for the re-election of President Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima, according to a statement by her media aide, Busola Kukoyi.
The rally attracted the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda; Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma; governors from the North-Central region and other party leaders.
The First Lady, who anchored her appeal on the President’s 1 October Independence Day address, titled “From Reforms to Prosperity”, said Nigerians should expect the benefits of the administration’s policies to become more evident.
“President Tinubu is a man who believes in the unity, security and prosperity of our nation,” she said.
According to her, the administration’s reforms were beginning to stabilise the economy, with the foreign exchange market showing improvement and investors returning to the country.
“Foreign exchange is going down, and investors are coming back to Nigeria. Our farmers too, you can see all our governors here, they are doing infrastructural development like no other time before,” she said.
Mrs Tinubu also highlighted the administration’s interventions in nutrition and social welfare, saying the government was addressing food insecurity, particularly among vulnerable women and children.
She said the recently concluded food bank programme was designed to support children, pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers with nutritious food, while malnourished children would receive treatment and nutritional support to aid healthy development.
The First Lady further pointed to government support for young people in school, urging party supporters to communicate the administration’s policies and achievements to voters in their respective states.
Describing the President as a leader willing to take difficult decisions, she called on Nigerians to trust him to lead the country towards economic prosperity.
“One thing I want to say is that as we all go back to our various states, tell everyone that Mr President Bola Tinubu is a leader who is very bold. As we can see, he will not stop by being at home to take difficult decisions. He is a leader who can be trusted to lead us into prosperity,” she said.
She urged the North-Central electorate to vote for continuity, arguing that a second term for the Tinubu administration would deliver a stronger economy, safer communities and a more prosperous Nigeria.
“Therefore, vote for continuity, vote for capacity, vote for prosperity, vote for the re-election of Mr President and all the candidates of APC from top to bottom,” she said.
Other speakers at the rally also called for support for Tinubu, Shettima and APC candidates in the 2027 general elections, expressing confidence that another term for the ruling party would sustain the administration’s agenda.
The rally forms part of efforts by pro-APC groups to mobilise grassroots support ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
