The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has officially announced P.O as its presidential candidate for the 2027 general elections following the conclusion of its party primaries.
The announcement was made after a transparent and closely monitored electoral process conducted in line with the party’s constitution and internal guidelines.
According to the party, the primary election witnessed strong participation from delegates across the country, reflecting broad engagement and renewed commitment to internal democracy within the NDC.
Following the declaration of results, P.O emerged victorious with a clear majority of votes cast, securing the party’s ticket ahead of other contenders.
In his acceptance remarks, P.O expressed appreciation to delegates and party members for their confidence, describing the outcome as a call to collective responsibility and unity.
He pledged to run an inclusive and issue-based campaign focused on economic recovery, good governance, and national development.
“With this mandate, I accept the responsibility to lead our party into the 2027 elections. We must now unite, strengthen our structures, and work together for national progress,” he said.
The NDC leadership congratulated P.O and urged all stakeholders within the party to rally behind the candidate as preparations begin for the general elections.
The party reaffirmed its commitment to presenting a credible alternative leadership to the Nigerian electorate in 2027.

With the confirmation, Obi and Kwankwaso are expected to jointly lead the ADC’s campaign into the 2027 race, bringing together two influential political blocs with strong national support bases.
