Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State, Yemi Sanusi, has been re-elected for a third term.
He was re-elected at the state congress which took place at June 12 Cultural Centre, Abeokuta, alongside other executive members.

The Congress Chairman, Wale Ohu, said 1,180 elected delegates participated in the election.
Governor Dapo Abiodun challenged the new party leaders to deepen grassroots engagement ahead of the next year election.
“As we look ahead to 2027, our task is very clear. We must deepen grassroots engagement in every ward and every local government. We must communicate our achievements clearly and honestly. We must listen to our people and respond to their aspirations and demands.”
“We must reach beyond our traditional support base and inspire confidence among undecided voters. Victory will not come by assumption. It will come by preparation.”
In Lagos State, the current chairman of APC, Cornelius Ojelabi, has been returned for another term in office.
Ojelabi, alongside other state executives, emerged through a consensus arrangement at the APC state congress held at the Mobolaji Johnson Stadium on Tuesday.
Other executives elected include Moshood Olanrewaju as Deputy Chairman; Adeola Jokomba as Secretary; Azizat Mariam as Assistant Secretary; Seye Oladejo as Publicity Secretary; Babajide Sunday as Vice Chairman; Shola Eletu as Woman Leader; and Ayodele Adewale as Organising Secretary.
The congress was witnessed by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu; Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat; Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Mudasiru Obasa; Leader of the Governor’s Advisory Council, Tajudeen Olusi; and Secretary to the State Government, Bimbola Salu-Hundeyin.
Also present were former Lagos State governor, Akinwunmi Ambode; governorship aspirant, Olajide Adediran; and former senator, Ganiyu Solomon, among others.
In Oyo, former Deputy Governor during the tenure of late governor Abiola Ajimobi, Moses Alake Adeyemo, emerged as the chairman of APC.
Adeyemo was unanimously adopted as a consensus candidate at the party’s State Congress held at Liberty Stadium, Oke-Ado, Ibadan.
An Indigene of Igboho in Oke-Ogun area of Oyo State, Adeyemo served as Ajimobi’s deputy between 2011-2019.
And in Ondo State, Kolawole Babatunde, a former member of the House of Representatives from Akoko SouthWest/Southeast and Special Adviser to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa on Legislative Matters and Party Affairs, emerged the new state chairman.
Babatunde emerged alongside other executive members on Tuesday during the State Congress of the party held at the International Centre and Event Centre, The DOME, in Akure.
Aside Babatunde, the former Publicity Secretary of the party, Alex Kalejaye, also emerged as the party’s State Secretary.
The new executive members emerged via a ‘voice votes’ after the party’s stakeholders had unanimously agreed to adopt a consensus.
Governor Aiyedatiwa and other party leaders were in attendance at the state congress.
Meanwhile, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Ondo South senatorial aspirant, Ogbeni Kayode Fakuyi has hailed the emergence of a former member of House of Representatives, Hon. Kolawole Gabriel Babatunde as chairman of the APC in Ondo State.
“Ever since we formed APC in 2013, the party in Ondo State has never had it better in terms of unity, impacts and inclusiveness. Therefore, Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa deserves great applause for his firm and unifying leadership,” Fakuyi said in a statement.
He added that “Given his pedigree as a former member of House of Representatives, former Special Adviser to Ondo State Governor on many portfolios, core party man and a great grassroots mobilizer, I am upbeat Hon. Kolawole Babatunde will lead Ondo APC to secure massive wins in forthcoming elections.
“Finally, I urge party executives to, as a matter of duty, mobilize party members to support the Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa-led administration and its initiatives. I also challenge party executives to devise a systematic approach that guarantees more party members can benefit from government at all levels.”
