Former Anambra State Governor and 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, on Monday evening paid a courtesy visit to former Federal Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Ali Pantami.
Pantami confirmed the meeting on his X account on Tuesday.
The former minister described it as a “friendly visit” during which they discussed a wide range of issues, including agriculture, the economy, education, artificial intelligence, global statistics, and the principle of unity in diversity.
“My family and I are most appreciative of the visit,” he said.
The meeting follows a series of closed-door consultations by Obi over the weekend. On Sunday, he held separate discussions in Ibadan, Oyo State, with former President Olusegun Obasanjo and the Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Rasheed Ladoja. While the specifics of the conversations were not disclosed, observers view the engagements as part of Obi’s preparations ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Obi’s entourage on Sunday included key Labour Party figures such as Yunusa Tanko, spokesman of the party’s presidential campaign council; Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, the party’s 2023 Lagos governorship candidate; and Segun Adebanjo.
The former governor described the meetings as platforms to deliberate on the state of the nation, and the need for unity, fairness, and justice among Nigerians
