An All Progressives Congress chieftain, APC, Ayekooto Akindele has claimed that President Bola Tinubu is the first real politician to be president of Nigeria since 1914.
He made the controversial statement in a post on his X page.
Posting on X, Ayekooto wrote: “For the first time since 1914, a real politician is the President, Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“Tinubu leaving the country during the by-election is like a striker kicking a penalty and turning his back against the goalpost and the goalkeeper, yet he scored a magnificent goal.
“TINUBU’s Coalition won all the elections conducted yesterday.”
The All Progressives Congress, APC, had cleared the majority of the seats in the bye-elections.
The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and the New Nigerian Peoples Party, NNPP, also recorded some victories, while the African Democratic Congress, ADC, failed to secure any seat.
